Earwigs
Don’t Fear the Earwig: Facts You Need to Know
Earwigs can pinch and invade homes, while also damaging plants and gardens.
Earwigs are small, dark brown insects with distinctive pincers on their rear, often found in damp, shaded areas like gardens, under rocks, or inside homes. Despite their intimidating appearance, earwigs don’t pose any real harm to humans and rarely use their pincers. They primarily feed on decaying plant matter and other insects. However, they can sometimes damage garden plants or invade homes in search of moisture. To prevent earwig infestations, reduce moisture levels, seal entry points, and keep areas around the house clean and dry.
